287 Military Road, Cremorne
Currently the Cremorne Hotel is one of our flag ship installations as it show cases many of the specific design solutions unique to DJW Projects. The Hotel was faced with massive noise restrictions due to the high rise apartment block directly on top of the planned night club. Some of the obstacles we had to confront were several structural vibration paths, thin ceilings and many escape routes for airborne vibrations
With the combined forces of our Audio consultants, structural vibration specialist and an arsenal of specialized audio components and design techniques, we set about conquering our challenges. Some of the speaker cabinets used for the installation included the EAW DSA columns (digital steerable array columns, usually reserved for huge cathedrals) EAW KF array components (mainly used for outdoor concerts and large live venues) and the EAW CP621 concentrical array ceiling cabinet.
Our final pièce de résistance for the Cremorne Hotel is the largest LED dance floor in the southern hemisphere. Designed by DJW & engineered to withstand a battering from several tonnage of dancers upon the glass top and consisting of 99 x LED. Each LED panel gives us 4 pixels, with a total of 396 colour changing panels that are computer controlled, fully programmable and capable of running video.
Beyond the structural constraints we had to tackle, we needed to deliver a dance floor audio levels equal to that of any other Sydney dance clubs and a front of house audio with sub levels acceptable for live international sound system acts.
