Dixon Street, Haymarket

DJW Projects were asked to design a system for Golden Palace late in the piece; after several other AV Companies had quoted on the project. We decided to offer the client a state of the art system, rather than the tired old options he had already been presented. The client has since said that his decision to use the most expensive option was because he felt the alternatives offered were based on their bottom line objectives rather than his own specific requirements.

The Golden Palace had engaged Steven Cooper from the Accoustix Group as the acoustic consoultant.The venue had some specific noise requirements relating to vibration getting into the structure, which would in turn upset the neighbours and effect the gaming section of the hotel. We were instructed to mechanically isolate every speaker from the structure using vibration mounts. There was to be nothing mounted on the floor including the subs which had to be flown on a custom made frame supported from the ceiling with vibration isolation mounts.
